The first construction phase of Assembly Atlanta—which includes Assembly Studios, the park, and the Rail Trail—was fully completed in October 2023. Remarkably, it took less than two years to finish over 1 million square feet of usable production space.
Assembly Atlanta refers to the full campus—a mixed-use development in Doraville, Georgia—encompassing production facilities, public park space, and future commercial components. Assembly Studios refers specifically to the production-focused side of the campus, which includes 19 sound stages (plus three more at Third Rail Studios), backlot streetscapes, the Georgia Film Academy training facility, and other production support spaces.
NBCUniversal leases, operates, and manages the studio facilities through a long-term agreement with Gray Media. NBCUniversal Production Services provides a wide variety of production services, including a costume house, sign shop, lighting, grip, and transportation.
